The Story
The Land Beneath Us is a turn-based rogue-like action dungeon crawler in which Players will take the role of a robot assigned on a mission to rescue its creator. Players must use powerful skill combos and stylish weaponry to battle their way through the underworld called Annwn. Enjoy challenging encounters, uncovering mysteries, discovering the hidden secrets of the story, and choosing your path with alternate endings!
One day you, the Player, awaken in the body of the Ultimate Soul Harvester robot (U.S.H). You are assigned a mission to save your Creator that was kidnapped by the evil rulers of the underworld and to bring peace back to humankind. However, as you learn more about the land beneath us while continuing on your mission, you discover that your mission might not be as simple as it appears to be.
The main feature of gameplay is the attack mechanics that are automatically bound to the directions you move in. The Player can possess four weapons, each corresponding to the four directions, functioning in a chess-like way.
Moreover, another unique gameplay feature is the “Chip system,” a walking-pattern skill that can be collected in the game. Chips can be activated when Players walk in the direction patterns specific to each chip. However, enemies are there, ready to block you. Therefore, you must strategically plan your moves before taking a turn.
Travel down the various areas of the underworld with randomly generated levels for different experiences in every new run. Upgrade storyline and permanent stats, then become stronger each time you play. Enjoy new interactions and dialogue that change through time, and choose your ending for the game.
You can customize the difficulty of levels and try to do quests together with challenges. It's a refreshing combination of classic turn-based rogue-like game elements and innovative gameplay mechanics.
